This 4-day Uganda mountain gorilla trekking safari takes you to one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is in the South Western region of Uganda in the Kanungu district. The park is well known for having the best mountain gorilla trekking experience. It has almost half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas with a population of about 480 individuals as of the last census.

Itinerary
Day 2Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will take a drive towards the national park gate where you will receive a further briefing and your safari will start. You will then spend time in this natural forest that serves as home to the majestic gorillas only available in this part of the world.
Well-trained rangers who have spent time with the gorillas will accompany and guide you to locate the gorillas.
You will be issued with a certificate on your return.
Depending on the time of day, you will experience the Batwa cultural display including song and dance as well as the skills used in hunting and gathering when in the forest where they live.
You will return to your lodge room for a well-deserved rest.
Day 3Travel to Lake Bunyonyi
You will then travel to Kabale where Lake Bunyonyi is located.
After lunch, you will enjoy the island hopping experience with a narration of the detailed history. These include Punishment Island where girls who got pregnant out of wedlock were sent to die as well as Bwama Island which was used to isolate leprosy patients. Try out the dug-out canoe common among the fishermen, and if you are up to it, have a taste of the local brew, omuramba.
An evening walk will allow you to experience the most majestic sunset you will ever see.
Day 4: Travel back to Entebbe
You will set off towards Kampala and Entebbe where your safari will end.
Lunch will be en route in Mbarara.
Depending on your departure time, an hour at the Igongo Cultural Museum where you will have your lunch is recommended.
