Overview
The 5 Days Mount Elgon Safari in Mountain Elgon National Park combines the highlights of the eastern part of the country including Our special climbing adventure to Mt. Elgon, whose various peaks surrounding the ancient caldera of this extinct volcano are not difficult to conquer.
Aspirant hikers need to be reasonably fit but require no specialized equipment or advanced mountaineering skill level to reach any of the major peaks. Two of the more popular 3 to 7 day trails take visitors to the Wagagai peak are the Sasa Trail out of Budadiri and the Piswa Trail out of Kapkwata.
This Mount Elgon Safari takes you Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital. You will explore Jinja town and its major attractions like the source of River Nile – the world’s longest river, Bujagali falls, Itanda falls, Jinja Sailing club and Masese fishing village, Visit the Community coffee Farm in Wanale and the majestic Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa.

Day 1: Transfer to Mbale via Jinja
With an early breakfast, you will embark on your 5 days Mount Elgon Safari where you will picked from your hotel by our company guide at 7:00am and then driven East across several districts to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital.
You will stopover in Mabira forest for a tour of the largest forest in Uganda and later explore Jinja town and its major attractions like the source of River Nile – the world’s longest river, Bujagali falls, Itanda falls, Jinja Sailing club and Masese fishing village. You also have an opportunity to go kayaking, bungee jumping, white water rafting, horseback riding and quad biking. After a full day of adventure in Jinja, you will be transferred to Mbale.

Day 2: Mount Elgon hike
After breakfast, we pack our lunch snacks. This day is dedicated to hiking Mountain Elgon. The park guides from Uganda Wildlife Education Centre will be ready to take you up to the mountain using any of the selected three main trekking trails; Budadiri Forest Exploration Center, Kapkwai, and Kapwata. This hike presents an exciting opportunity to encounter unique flora and fauna, magnificent waterfalls, enormous caves, scenic peaks, gorges and hot springs.

Day 3: Coffee farm Community Tour
You will start the day with a lovely breakfast before heading out to Mr. Magolofa’s farm at the foot of Wanale hill. Here, you will tour his three acre garden of coffee, ginger, papaya, tomatoes, yams, cassava, bananas and more. You’ll learn how coffee is planted, harvested and processed. Also, you will get to roast your own coffee beans, grind them and prepare your own fresh drink.

Day 4: Sipi Falls Tour
You will be picked from your hotel at 8:00am and driven to Kapchorwa district where you will spend the whole day exploring the magnificent Sipi falls and adjoining areas.
Positioned at the foothills of Mount Elgon, Sipi falls has three waterfalls that stretch to 85meters, 75meters and 100meters accordingly. Activities here include caving, hiking, rock climbing and abseiling.
Hikes around the falls offer stunning views of the Karamoja plains and the slopes of Mount Elgon. After the Sipi tour, you will be transferred back to Mbale.

Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe
After breakfast, enjoy a rendezvous drive back to Entebbe across several districts back to Kampala. Enjoy the scenic views of Mabira forest, the Nile River, Lake Victoria, tea and sugar plantations around Lugazi and Kakira.
You will arrive in Entebbe later that afternoon and then be transferred to Entebbe International Airport in time for you to check in and catch your flight out of Uganda.
